Don’t you know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run like that, that you may win. Every man who strives in the games exercises self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.

Paul compares discipleship to disciplined training. Temporary prizes demand focus, but believers run toward a crown that will not decay.
Lord, give self-control that serves love and lasting purpose instead of pride or the attempt to earn salvation. Show me how to set aside distractions and use freedom with deliberate faithfulness.
God welcomes burdens, gratitude, questions, and cries for help. Prayer brings these things into His presence and reminds us that we do not carry them alone.
