What we collect

• Account data: email, optional display name, profile style settings, authentication provider details.
• Membership and billing references: plan status and Stripe customer/subscription IDs.
• Study data: highlights, reading progress, bundles, daily routine completions, and journal metadata.
• Journal content and signed-in Bible companion messages (stored encrypted at rest in our database).
• Daily Verse community data: comments, reactions, reports, moderation records, and posting restrictions.
• Support submissions: report-bug, idea, and business inquiry forms, including contact details and message content.
• Security/abuse data: rate-limit records, hashed identifiers, and security event logs.

How we use data

• Provide sign-in, account management, and saved study features.
• Process subscriptions and billing portal access through Stripe.
• Generate Bible companion responses and keep conversation history for signed-in users.
• Operate Daily Verse discussion and moderation tools.
• Respond to support issues and product suggestions.
• Detect, rate-limit, and prevent abuse or malicious traffic.

Cookies and local browser storage

Seek His Grace uses essential cookies and browser storage for site functionality.

• Authentication/session cookies from NextAuth.
• `guest_chat` cookie for guest Bible companion daily usage limits.
• Daily Verse reaction session cookie for guest verse reactions.
• Site access gate cookie when password protection is enabled.
• Admin unlock cookie for protected admin step-up verification.
• Session storage for guest chat state and active conversation selection.
• Local storage for daily routine progress when not signed in.

Third-party services

• Stripe for checkout, subscriptions, and billing portal.
• OpenAI for Bible companion generation.
• Resend and/or SMTP providers for sign-in emails and contact form delivery.
• OAuth sign-in providers (Google/GitHub) when enabled.

AI companion limitations notice

Bible companion responses are generated by AI and may contain mistakes or incomplete information. We encourage you to verify important details with Scripture and other trusted sources before relying on responses.

Companion responses are intended for reflective, educational support and are not professional medical, legal, financial, or crisis guidance.

Security and retention notes

• Journal content and signed-in companion messages are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM).
• Rate-limit identifiers are hashed before storage.
• Stale signed-in companion conversations are automatically pruned after 30 days of inactivity.
• Rate-limit windows are retained for up to 30 days.
• Magic link records are short-lived and periodically cleaned up after expiration or completion.

Daily Verse posting visibility

Daily Verse comments and reactions are community features and may be visible to other users and guests. Please do not post sensitive personal information.

Your choices

You can control profile display data in your account and can delete your own Daily Verse comments through available in-app controls.
