I have come in my Father’s name, and you don’t receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him. How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and you don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God?
Reflection
Jesus exposes a hidden obstacle to faith: the appetite for human approval can make the heart unable to welcome Him. Unbelief is not always intellectual; sometimes it is social and proud.

He looked around at them all, and said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did, and his hand was restored as sound as the other. But they were filled with rage, and talked with one another about what they might do to Jesus.
Reflection
Jesus heals in a room full of resistance, and the rage around Him only clarifies the beauty of His mercy. Love does not wait for the approval of hard hearts before acting.

Behold, they brought to him a man who was paralyzed, lying on a bed. Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, “Son, cheer up! Your sins are forgiven you.”
Reflection
Jesus sees the paralyzed man's need and speaks forgiveness before anyone asks for it. His mercy reaches deeper than the visible crisis.

For the mountains may depart, and the hills be removed; but my loving kindness will not depart from you, and my covenant of peace will not be removed,” says Yahweh who has mercy on you.
Reflection
Isaiah sets the stability of God's covenant love against the instability of the natural world itself. Even mountains are imagined as more movable than His peace.

Verse
He who refuses correction despises his own soul, but he who listens to reproof gets understanding. The fear of Yahweh teaches wisdom. Before honor is humility.
Reflection
Proverbs frames correction as a pathway to understanding and honor rather than a threat to identity. The teachable person is not humiliated by reproof, but improved by it.

Verse
I will give thanks to Yahweh with my whole heart. I will tell of all your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in you. I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.
Reflection
David's praise is wholehearted and specific, which means gratitude is not treated as polite background noise. He remembers God's works out loud and lets joy become testimony.
